World's First Solar Power Stadium

Brazil opens first solar-powered stadium ahead of 2014 World Cup.

This splendor looking stadium is the first in the world to provide all its own electricity using the solar power. The horse shoe-shaped structure in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has been built for the World Games which will take place in the city in July. It is the first stadium to use only solar power technology for all its electricity.

A Taiwanese official said the panels will generate 1.14 million kWh of electricity per year, preventing 660 tons of annual carbon dioxide from being pumped into the atmosphere from traditional power stations.

It is very innovative project

A solar-powered stadium that will generate 100% of its electricity from photovoltaic technology Designed by Toyo Ito,  the 50,000-seat arena will officially open later this year  to welcome the 2009 World Games which features many sports not included in the Olympics Such as parachuting, tenpin bowling and rugby sevens.

As preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil hit the final stretch, the first of many solar-powered stadiums being used for next year’s tournament was recently put in the spotlight with an inauguration event.

Beauty tips for skin

DRY SKIN

Dry skin has a low level of sebum, which is the skin's natural lubricator. As it doesn't have enough sebum, it dries out simply and isn't able to keep the correct amount of moisture required for unblemished skin.

There are various factors causes dry skin. It is commoner in winter when the cold outside and the heat within contribute in drying up the skin.

It could also be due to hot water or tough soaps. Unsatisfactory diet or smoking may also cause or worsen the issue. Dry skin might also be an indication of other conditions, including rash, eczema, ichthyoids, psoriasis, an under active thyroid and diabetes. Dry skin becomes commoner as people age.

Problems Faced by People Having Dry Skin

People with dry skin could find their skin cracks and peels or becomes flaky. Dry skin becomes red, irritated and inflamed after washing. Dry itchy skin is a standard problem for peoples with dry skin. In extraordinary cases, there could be deep fissures that bleed. Dry skin ages quicker than other sorts of skin. Wrinkles and fine lines can frequently become an issue.

OILY SKIN

Over-active glands cause oily skin, which produce too much sebum. Sebaceous glands produced the sebum. It's required as it helps lubricate your skin and carries away dead skin cells. Too much sebum is being produced when the skin is oily. The skin becomes lifeless and oily and pores may become clogged.

The additional secretion of sebum can be due to many factors. Heredity, diet, contraception tablets and the incorrect cosmetics may all cause oily skin. Hormonal balances can also have an effect on the production of sebum, which is the reason why oily skin is commonly found in youths, pregnant ladies or girls going thru menopause.

Problems Faced by People Having Oily Skin

People with oily skin frequently are afflicted by skin conditions, like marks, acnes, black heads, white heads and spots. Enlarged and clogged pores could be a difficulty.
Oily skin regularly looks lifeless and oily. With the right oily skin treatment, it is feasible to treat such issues.

Best Food for Hairs

There are certain foods that may be favorable to hair health and promote hair growth.

Protein

You need sufficient protein for healthy hair because hair is basically formed by protein. Low-quality protein can end up in feeble, fragile hair or a loss of hair color but possibilities are, if you are attempting to add or maintain muscle, you already eat enough.

Good sources : Chicken, turkey, meat, eggs, low fat dairy (cottage cheese, milk, yogurt)

Iron
Low iron levels can cause hair-loss, according to a Cleveland Hospital review. Analysts looked at eleven studies on the link between iron intake and baldness, and came to the conclusion that treating iron deficiency may help re-grow hair.

Good sources : Lean red beef, turkey, egg yolks, dried beans, dried fruit, whole grains

Water

If you have dry hair or just wish to forestall straw-like strands drink more. He endorses the standard 8 glasses a day. Bring a water bottle to work so you do not spend all day refilling your mug at the fountain.

Vitamins

Vitamin B:
-The B vitamins are excellent for hair health and growth. B vitamins are found in protein rich foods and are in charge of good skin health and healthy follicles. To make body more serviceable vitamin B helps break down the protein in your body.

Vitamin C: -Deficiency of vitamin C can make hair dry and puny because vitamin C helps your body absorb iron. You likely take in enough C from your diet, so long as you eat a range of fruit and vegetables daily.

Good sources : leafy greens, Broccoli, green peppers, citrus fruit, strawberries, egg, chicken, beef.

Honey likes the honey bees to fight against the poison

Honeybees have a weakness for sugar. They sip a sweet beverage called nectar from flowers. And during winter, these insects live off of the honey they made from it. Now scientists have found something in honey that offers more than calories. The food also contains chemicals that might be thought of as medicine. They work by helping bees fight off germs and rid their bodies of poisons picked up in the environment.

Poisons are toxic chemicals. Honey can help a bee rid its body of these by turning on a certain gene. (Genes are found in almost every living cell and contain the instructions for how to keep a cell functioning.) The bees have some genes that trigger processes to detoxify a poison. They work by helping the body break down the poison. Findings linking honey to the activity of these genes appeared.

honey that help bees fight off germs

These so-called detox genes are important in honeybees. The insects often encounter pesticides. These toxic chemicals are applied to crops to combat other insects or organisms.

Insect specialist May Berenbaum led the new study. Her team at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign focused on a substance in honey called p-coumaric acid. It’s found in the outer coat of pollen. The researchers discovered it plays an important role in activating detox genes. Bees encounter this powdery substance as they flit from flower to flower. They also collect pollen to make into food for young bees. Although honey is made mostly from nectar, bits of pollen may end up in it.

Honey with its p-coumaric acid is good winter food for bees. But the insects often end up eating something else. Many beekeepers sell much of their hives’ honey. So during the winter months, they feed their bees a form of sugar to keep them from going hungry. That substitute is usually sugar water or high-fructose corn syrup (fructose is an especially sweet sugar).

30 secs mobile charge

Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, the world's largest high school science research competition in search of young scientist.

In the science research competition an indian American science student Eesha Khare of Lynbrook High School in Saratoga, California , Eesha khare (18 yrs ) has invented a superfast mobile charge in 20-30 secs.

                                                                                     Eesha khare

Her explaining in the Fair :

With the rapid growth of portable electronics, it has become necessary to develop efficient energy-storage technology to match this development. While batteries are currently used for energy-storage, they suffer from long charging times and short cycle life. Electrochemical supercapacitors have attracted attention as energy-storage devices because they bridge the gap between current alternatives of conventional capacitors and batteries, offering higher energy density than conventional capacitors and higher power density than batteries. Despite these advantages, supercapacitor energy density is much lower than batteries and increasing energy density remains a key challenge in supercapacitor research. The goal of this work was to design and synthesize a supercapacitor with increased energy density while maintaining power density and long cycle life.

Her invent has been paid. She won the Second place winner in Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

Top winner Ionut Budisteanu, 19, of Romania (center)
with second-place winners Eesha Khare, 18, of Saratoga, Calif. (left)
and Henry Lin, 17, of Shreveport, La

Google chased her first :

Google has apparently contacted Khare about the technology. She hasn’t disclosed any specifics about what Google has talked to her about, but she has said that she didn’t want to sell her work just yet. The technology she’s working on right now is already built to hold 10,000 charge-recharge cycles. Google has stated that 10 times more than the standard battery in their phones today. Needless to say, it’s easy to see why Google would want to figure out how to implement that type of technology in their own devices.

We shall hope that Eesha Khare release her invention soon in the market. So that many can save their time and the power .

A WOMEN EATS EVERY 15 MINS TO STAY ALIVE.

                                                           Lizzie Velazquex of Austin

Her’s is a case which has fascinated doctors all over the world. Meet: Lizzie Velasquez, the 21-year-old woman from Austin in the US who eats every 15 minutes to stay alive

It's rare case which prevent her to gain weight even though she eats 30 full meals per day.She intakes 5000 to 6000 calories daily. Her height is 5.2 inches

she says-“I weigh myself regularly and if I gain even one pound I get really excited. I eat every 15 to 20 minutes to keep my energy levels up

“I eat small portions of crisps, sweets, chocolate, pizza, chicken, cake, doughnuts, ice cream, noodles and pop tarts all day long, so I get pretty upset when people accuse me of being anorexic,” Velasquez said

Prof Garg believes Lizzie may have a form of Neonatal Progeroid Syndrome which causes accelerated ageing, fat loss from face and body, and tissue degeneration. People with PRS have triangular and prematurely aged faces with a pointy nose.

He said: “I am aware of a small number of people that have similar conditions to Lizzie but each case is slightly different. We cannot predict what will happen to Lizzie in the future as the medical community are yet to document older people with NPS.

“However Lizzie is lucky to have healthy teeth, organs and bones so the outlook is good. We’ll continue to study her case and learn from her.”

She made her life beautiful even after many bulling.. she is a wonderful person now who spread the word self confidence.

Swiss watch was found in 400 years old tomb

During an archaeological dig in Shangsi Town, China, a 400 year old tomb was discovered. Two journalists who were accompanying the archaeologists – further to the dig, the journalists reported that a small Swiss ring watch was discovered within the tomb.

It's believed that the tomb had lay undisturbed for 400 years – since the Ming dynasty. The photograph above seems to show the watch showing the time to be about 11:05.

“When we tried to remove the soil wrapped around the coffin, a piece of rock suddenly dropped off and hit the ground with a metallic sound,?” said Jiang Yanyu, former curator of the Guangxi Autonomous Region Museum.

“We picked up the object, and found it was a ring. After removing the covering soil and examining it further, we were shocked to see it was a watch” the word “Swiss” engraved on the back.

By the 16th Century, China had maritime trade with the Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese and Dutch.
It is feasible therefore that the inhabitant of the coffin (dated around 1600AD) may have been a wealthy traveller, or could have purchased the item from a travelling merchant

A Lamp that burns on human blood

It is bad if every time you wanted to switch on a light, you had to bleed.!

That's the idea behind the blood lamp, invented by Mike Thomspon, an English designer based in The Netherlands. The lamp contains luminol – the same chemical forensic scientists use to check for traces of blood at a crime scence. Luminol reacts with the iron in red blood cells and creates a bright blue glow.

weired right, how to use it..
you first need to mix in an activating powder. Then, you break the glass, cut yourself, and drip blood into the opening.    <simple :P>

Thompson came up with the rather gruesome idea, reported by New Scientist recently, a few years ago while he was studying for his masters at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. He was researching chemical energy for a project and came across luminol.

A lamp that uses blood to create light is meant to make people rethink how they use energy. The lamp contains luminol, a chemical that reacts with the iron in blood and creates a bright blue glow.

"It kind of triggered this thought in my mind, that if energy somehow came at a cost to us, then maybe it would make us think differently about the way we use it," Thompson. The lamp is intended to "challenge people's preconceived notions about where our energy comes from," he said, and it forces the user "to rethink how wasteful they are with energy, and how precious it is."
